A Lagos church has been attracting visitors all over Nigeria after it was reported that the image of Jesus Christ appeared on its wall.

Many people have been trooping en mass to the convention ground of Holy Ghost Fire Apostolic Church, Ogun Estate, Sagamu Road, Ikorodu, Lagos, to catch a glimpse after an image of ‘Jesus Christ' appeared on the wall.

According to Vanguard, one of the walls of a building under construction in the Church was wet, and some people perceived an image on it as that of Jesus Christ, attracting worshippers and curious people.

It was learnt that the stained wall was first noticed, weekend, by an artisan, who screamed and abruptly stopped the day’s work, claiming he had seen Jesus Christ.

His alarm spread into the neighbourhood and people began to troop into the place.

One of the Church attendants, who craved anonymity, said the scene has been attracting over 400 worshippers daily, but added that yesterday’s crowd was much compared with previous days.

People have visited the Church individually and in groups, praying and singing to God, while some transporters seized the opportunity to hike their fares.

A visit to the church showed a stained soaked wall, which looked like an image with some of the worshippers dropping sachets and bottles of water by the wall, while others knelt down or touched the image praying aloud.

Also, the construction work at the Church compound has been put on hold due to the number of pilgrims turning up to catch a glimpse of the image.

One of the worshippers, Mrs Adetoun Folajimi, said she came with a lot of prayer requests, hoping that they will be granted soon.

Another female worshipper, Mrs Stella Amuse, said she came all the way from Parafa, in Ikorodu, saying “I saw Jesus Christ on the cross and this is a sign that my prayers will be answered.”

The Church Founder and Parish Pastor were not available for comments during the visit, but a male worshipper said the incident was a move by God to draw people to His Kingdom.
