LAUTECH Lecturers Call Off Eight Months Strike

After eight months, lecturers of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, who embarked on a strike action to protest non-payment of their salary arrears, which amounted to almost N7.1bn, have put an end to their industrial action.

This was made known in a letter signed by Bodunrin Olaniran, chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), LAUTECH branch and Toyin Abegunrin, the secretary, who announced the suspension of the strike.

The eltter read;

“The chairman highlighted all the demands of the union and the same were compared with what the university management has met.

“After due deliberations on the demands and holistic assessment of the struggle, the congress resolved that the current strike action by the union be suspended with immediate effect.”
