John Vincent Arinze, 52, is currently being interrogated over a 92kgs of methamphetamine and a 73kgs of ephedrine seized at Apapa Seaport, Lagos, inside two containers of foodstuff meant for export to S. Africa.
The estimated street value of the drugs is N1.4bn. The drugs were hidden inside packs of melon concealed in foodstuff and cosmetics. Officers successfully traced them to Arinze. A Benz Jeep belonging to him was also impounded at the time of arrest.
Arinze who had lived in S. Africa for over a decade, said: “I am an evangelist living in Durban. My late wife was into drug trafficking. I made a mistake venturing into her business. It is all my fault.”…. bt d anointing on my head will set me free eventually. Kneel down, let us pray….
